TechDays 2010 session – first glance (SharePoint – what’s new for .NET devs)

I am super excited to find out that this year I will be a session lead for TechDays 2010. My session main theme is Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 for the Microsoft ASP.NET Developer. Over the next few weeks I will be working with my content lead to come up with the best possible content for this years attendees. This years TechDays will start in Vancouver and continue in 8 cities until mid December (by the way – check out early bird registration details on the site).  This is why it’s so exciting to create the content for so many attendees.

Here is what I plan top cover in the session so far:

  • Why SharePoint?
  • SharePoint Architecture
  • Server Farms
  • Web Applications and Site Collections
  • Solution Packages
  • Sandbox Solutions
  • Features
  • Web Parts

Demos:

  • Tricks to building Web Parts
  • List definitions and instances
  • Tips and tricks when building Event Receivers
  • Tips and tricks when working Business Connectivity Services
  • …. lots of small details around the topics above

The content above and all the demos is just my idea of what I think would be interesting to you … everything else is up to my content lead and you! So if you like any ideas of what else might be a good idea to include in the session – drop me a quick note.

Cheers!
